A friendly and inclusive Primary School in Haringey is looking for a skilled Learning Support Assistant to support children with Autism and behavioural needs across Key Stages 1 and 2. This long-term Learning Support Assistant role is perfect for an individual who is passionate about supporting SEN pupils and wants to build experience in a nurturing environment.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and group support, working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to ensure pupils with ASD and behavioural difficulties can access the curriculum effectively.
Key responsibilities as a Learning Support Assistant:
Supporting children with Autism, behavioural needs, and social/emotional challenges.
Delivering individualised learning support and structured interventions.
Implementing strategies recommended by the SENCo and therapists.
Helping pupils develop independence, confidence, and life skills.
Monitoring progress and reporting on pupils' development to teachers.
The ideal Learning Support Assistant:
Experienced as a Learning Support Assistant in an SEN setting.
Skilled at working with children with ASD and challenging behaviour.
Patient, empathetic, and proactive.
A team player who can take initiative as a Learning Support Assistant.
