Mental Health Support Assistant - Graduate Position


An inclusive and forward-thinking Secondary School in the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a Mental Health Support Assistant to join their dedicated pastoral and learning support team. This is a brilliant opportunity for a graduate who is passionate about student wellbeing and is looking to gain hands-on experience in a mental health-focused education setting.

As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who are experiencing social, emotional or mental health (SEMH) challenges, helping them to thrive both personally and academically. You'll play a vital part in creating a safe, encouraging environment that allows every young person to feel understood, supported and ready to learn.

As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group emotional wellbeing sessions
  • Support students with SEMH and SEND needs both in and out of class
  • Monitor progress and wellbeing, contributing to personalised support plans
  • Liaise with teachers and the pastoral team to ensure joined-up support strategies
