Job Advert: PMLD Support Assistant
Location: Waltham Forest
Salary: £85 to £100 per day (dependent on experience)
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated PMLD Support Assistant to work with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) at a specialist school in Waltham Forest. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting who are passionate about providing tailored support to students with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with PMLD.
- Assist students with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students develop communication and life skills through structured activities and programmes.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with PMLD or in an SEN setting is preferable.
- Ability to provide personal care and physical support to students.
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with complex needs.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
