About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our thriving Primary Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Woolwich. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to support our students with a range of learning and developmental needs, ensuring they have access to a high-quality, inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities for students with special educational needs.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, focusing on their individual needs.

  • Help students develop key skills in literacy, numeracy, and social interaction.

  • Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies.

  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all students.

  • Work closely with other staff members, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports of students' progress.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a primary school setting.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

  • A willingness to learn and attend relevant training.

  • A proactive team player who can contribute to creating a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a SEN setting is desirable but not essential.
