We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team and support our students on their learning journey.
Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant at our SEMH school, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive and structured environment for students with a variety of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your role will be vital in supporting individual students or small groups, ensuring that they can access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential social skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
Assist in managing behavior and supporting students in their emotional development.
Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and engagement.
Work with the teaching team to implement tailored learning strategies and plans.
Help create and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Encourage independence, self-regulation, and emotional resilience.
Support students in building positive relationships with peers and staff.
Liaise with parents and outside agencies when necessary, ensuring the best outcomes for students.

A passion for working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Experience in supporting children with SEMH or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
