Young Women's Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)Pay: £14-£20 per hour Contract: Temp, 6 weeks with the potential to extendLocation: South London - 3 days from home, 2 days in office We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Women's Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to join our team, supporting young women affected by domestic abuse. This role offers the opportunity to provide life-changing advocacy and specialist support, empowering young women to live safe and independent lives.

About the Role

As a Young Women's IDVA, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support to young women experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Advocate for clients across a range of services, including housing, health, education, and the criminal justice system.
  • Carry out comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning to reduce harm.
  • Support clients through both practical and emotional challenges, helping them navigate complex systems and access the resources they need.
  • Build strong partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector agencies to ensure coordinated, holistic support.
  • Keep accurate, confidential records and contribute to service monitoring and development.
About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young women and tackling gender-based violence. You will bring:

  • Experience of working with survivors of domestic abuse (paid or voluntary).
  • A strong understanding of the issues affecting young women, including the dynamics of abuse and the barriers they face in accessing support.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding best practice for children and young people.
  • The ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise under pressure, and maintain professional boundaries.
  • A collaborative, empathetic, and solutions-focused approach.

An IDVA qualification is desirable, but we welcome applications from candidates with relevant skills and experience who are willing to work towards this.
