Supported Housing Officer (Mental Health)– £27,820 per annum plus holiday and benefits – Lewisham
Do you have experience supporting people with mental health needs? Are you confident working with individuals who may face complex challenges around housing and wellbeing?
The RoleWe’re looking for a Supported Housing Officer to join our team in Southeast London. This full-time, 1-year fixed term role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adults living with mental health conditions. You’ll be supporting residents to stabilise, grow in independence, and take steps toward reintegration into the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical, tailored support to a caseload of clients
- Help clients set achievable personal goals using support plans and SMART objectives
- Assist new residents with induction, including risk assessments and welcome processes
- Offer advice on welfare benefits and tenancy-related issues
- Conduct regular room and property checks to ensure health, safety and comfort
- Encourage clients in housekeeping and daily living skills
- Keep accurate, timely records using the client management system ‘Inform’
- Work flexibly, including occasional nights and lone working
- Liaise with external agencies and attend relevant meetings
- Provide cover across other schemes if needed.

The PersonWe’re looking for someone who can show empathy, resilience and a commitment to client wellbeing. You’ll need:
- Good understanding of mental health, housing and substance misuse issues
- Experience in a support or housing role (desirable)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay calm in crisis situations
- Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional night shifts
- Basic IT skills and record-keeping experience
- A positive, proactive approach to team working.
