Assist with tenant consultation and promote resident participation to support community well-being and service improvements.Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver housing management duties in line with policies and procedures.
  • Advise residents and liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • Mediate disputes and enforce tenancy agreements (including neighbour disputes and harassment).
  • Conduct property inspections, resolve tenancy breaches, and support service development.
  • Manage lettings and allocations to minimise void periods.
  • Conduct home visits, show properties, sign tenancy agreements.
  • Process transfers, mutual exchanges, and liaise with local authorities.
  • Ensure void properties are quickly re-let and maintained.
  • Oversee communal and grounds maintenance; conduct estate inspections.
  • Report repair needs and coordinate with the maintenance and customer care teams.
  • Support snagging and handover of new properties.
  • Support the Resident Involvement Strategy and engage residents through meetings and communications.
  • Maximise resident participation in service delivery and project specifications.
  • Provide excellent customer care and respond promptly to queries and complaints.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusive service delivery.
  • Monitor housing service performance and contribute to management reporting.
  • Comply with all relevant policies on health & safety, equality & diversity, and data protection.
  • Cover other housing functions as required.
  • Attend internal/external meetings and respond to local authority queries.

  • Good knowledge of relevant housing, landlord and tenant legislation and good practice
  • Understanding of anti-social behaviour, estate, and maintenance management practices
  • Knowledge of maintenance policies and procedures
  • Strong IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data input and correspondence
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, tact, and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work independently using initiative, as well as collaboratively in a team
  • Good problem-solving skills, with awareness of when to escalate issues
