Work Experience Officer – Hair & Beauty

Location: Tottenham Campus
Hours: 28 hours per week, across 4 days
Contract: Ongoing temporary role (to cover staff absence – no fixed end date)
Pay: £18–£22 per hour (depending on experience)

Philosophy Education is working in partnership with a welcoming Further Education college in Tottenham to recruit a dedicated Work Experience Officer to support learners in the Hair & Beauty department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and building strong employer relationships to help students gain meaningful industry experience.

The Role

As the Work Experience Officer, you will:

  • Support Hair & Beauty learners aged 16–25 in finding and completing suitable work experience placements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers and salons to secure a variety of placement opportunities.
  • Act as the key point of contact between the college, students, and employers, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Meet placement targets set for the academic year.
  • Complete all required documentation, including agreements, health and safety checks, and safeguarding compliance.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within education, careers, or employer engagement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and health & safety requirements in work placements.
  • Experience within the Hair & Beauty sector or with vocational learners is highly desirable.
