  • A warm and well-organised primary school in Haringey is seeking a School Welfare Officer to join their team immediately. This vital, part-time role is focused on providing first aid and welfare support to pupils, while contributing to safeguarding, attendance, and administrative functions during the school day.

    Job Role:

    As a key member of the school office team, the Welfare Officer will ensure pupils receive prompt and effective medical care, support attendance processes, and assist with day-to-day school operations. This is an ideal role for someone with experience in school settings who is looking for a part-time position within a nurturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide first aid and welfare support to pupils
    • Manage and report accidents, injuries, and medical incidents
    • Liaise with parents/carers regarding pupil health and wellbeing
    • Monitor and record pupil attendance and punctuality
    • Maintain medical and welfare records using SIMS
    • Support the school’s safeguarding and child protection procedures
    • Assist with general administrative tasks as required
    • Coordinate emergency medical care when necessary

    Candidate Requirements:

    • At least 3 months’ experience working in a school setting
    • A valid First Aid qualification (paediatric)
    • Confident using SIMS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Calm, caring, and professional manner
    • Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undertake training
