Q - Do you have experience or are looking to gain experience supporting children with Autism?

This mainstream Secondary School located in the Borough of Lambeth is looking for the perfect hard-working, resilient graduate to join their exceptional team! As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be working alongside pupils with SEMH & complex behavioural needs who require some additional guidance from a positive and assertive role model! You will support their everyday routine and keep them engaged and motivated to learn in the classroom. This is a full time, long-term post, commencing in September.

** This is an ideal position for a Psychology/Criminology graduate who is seeking first-hand experience before pursuing a career as a Prison Liaison Officer, Therapist, Counsellor, Youth Mentor amongst others. **

Behaviour Mentor - Autism Support Job role:

  • Supporting children with a range of SEN & SEMH to keep them engaged in the classroom
  • Encourage the development of the students' social skills
  • Work within the classroom and in smaller groups to accommodate needs
  • Support and comply with the school's safeguarding procedures
  • Full-time, long term position starting September 2025
  • Located in the Borough of Lambeth

Behaviour Mentor - Autism Support Candidate Specification:

  • A 2:1 or a First-class degree from a reputable University
  • Genuine interest working with SEN and Mental Health
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to adapt
  • Experience in a previous role, or personal experience in SEN is desirable
  • Calm and compassionate nature
