Role:                Groupworker

Location:          London and remote working (50/50 split)

Salary:             £16ph - £18.50ph PAYE / £21ph - £25ph umb (dependent on experience and pay status)

Start Date:       ASAP

Contract:         Temporary

Hours:             35 hours per week

Individual counselling sessions and group workshops delivered across London, including Paddington office and the sites in Wandsworth and Richmond.

Our client, a specialist domestic abuse charity are looking for a compassionate, trauma-informed Female Counsellor & Groupworker to deliver individual counselling and therapeutic groupwork to women survivors of domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred counselling and group work for women affected by domestic abuse
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups and short-term one-to-one sessions where required
  • Build and maintain positive therapeutic relationships, including with clients in crisis
  • Deliver face-to-face sessions, with some flexibility for remote delivery if needed
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to support client progress
  • Deliver up to 18 weekly counselling sessions per client, using a person-centred, trauma-informed approach.
  • Conduct initial assessments to determine client suitability and ensure appropriate service allocation.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential client records in line with WT policies and ethical standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress through agreed outcome measures.
  • Provide short case studies and data for monitoring, evaluation, and funding reports.
  • Participate in fortnightly clinical supervision and regular team check-ins

 Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of a diploma in Person-Centred/Humanistic Counselling or equivalent is essential.
  • BACP/UKCP accreditation: working towards it and BACP Registered
  •  minimum of 450 client hours following the Person-Centred/Humanistic approach or as near as possible to this figure.
  • A minimum of 2 years post qualification counselling experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with issues of domestic abuse including working directly with women clients.
  • Experience of working with women from black and minority ethnic communities
  • Ability to offer counselling sessions in community languages would be welcome
  • Clear enhanced DBS on the update service
