Work for a university in London as an interim Investigations Officer (hybrid, 35 hours p/w, 25.53 - 32.90 an hour, 3-6 months).
Role purpose

  • To provide expert technical advice and support for formal and informal casework including investigations, hearings and appeals related to student complaints, appeals and disciplinary matters.
  • You will be the first point of contact for investigations into matters relating to sexual violence. It is not anticipated that the post holder will carry out all investigations, although they will undertake some, but will assist and advise colleagues in undertaking these tasks.
  • The appointee will also; develop staff in relation to conducting investigations & develop the University's policy in relation to investigations.


What we look for

  • Formal investigation training.
  • Experience of working in a UK higher education institution demonstrating an understanding of the needs of students.
  • An understanding of dispute resolution processes (complaints, appeals) as they apply in higher education.
  • Proven experience of managing formal casework at all stages of complaint, appeal and disciplinary procedures.


Role details

  • Hourly rate: 25.53 - 32.90 p/h via an umbrella company.
  • Contract length: Min 3 months, potentially extending to 6 months.
  • IR35: Inside.
  • Work pattern: Monday-Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (35 hours p/w excl. 1 hour lunch break).
  • Interview: Monday 27 October 2025.
  • Start date: Monday 3 November 2025 (Ideally).
