About the Role:Join us in reshaping social work practice in Haringey! As part of our innovative approach, we're introducing specialist teams focused on Adults, Learning Disabilities, and Mental Health, operating collaboratively in localities across the borough. As a Social Worker specializing in Learning Disabilities, you'll play a crucial role in our strengths-based model, supporting residents to maximize their strengths and community resources for improved outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a varying caseload of complexity, working proactively with residents to maximize strengths and community resources.
  • Operate within a strength-based, collaborative approach to service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act 1998, and Equalities Act 2010.
  • Conduct assessments, crisis interventions, and outcome-focused work with individuals and families.
  • Maintain links with professionals and sectors within the community, advocating for non-discriminatory practice.
  • Stay updated with research, policies, and best practices relevant to the field.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Social Work.
  • Excellent assessment skills and crisis management abilities.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.
  • Desirable: Experience as a practice educator or DoLS Assessor.
