- Act as the main point of contact for victims of serious offences where the offender is subject to probation supervision, primarily in custody or on licence.
- Provide timely, accurate, and sensitive information to victims about key stages in an offender’s sentence and release arrangements.
- Liaise effectively with Offender Managers, prisons, and other criminal justice agencies to gather and relay accurate information.
- Ensure victims’ representations are properly considered in key decisions such as licence conditions and release planning.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential records in line with policy and legal requirements.
- Uphold the principles of the Victim Contact Scheme (VCS) and contribute to its continual improvement.
- Previous experience working with victims of crime or in a related support role within the criminal justice system.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- The ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Knowledge of probation services and the Victim Contact Scheme is highly desirable.
- Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
