A diverse junior school in Haringey, is seeking an experienced Youth worker to join their school from November to provide dedicated support for two pupils with significant SEN and SEMH needs.

The Role

In this youth worker role, you will be working closely with two primary age pupils who require intensive, personalised support to access the curriculum and manage their behaviour and wellbeing within the school environment:

  • Pupil One: Has an EHCP, limited verbal communication skills, and requires comprehensive scaffolding across all school activities.
  • Pupil Two: Has experienced significant trauma, is diagnosed with autism, and has a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile. This pupil may demonstrate challenging and manipulative behaviours and requires an experienced TA who can confidently implement educational psychology behaviour plans.

The school are looking for a Youth Worker/PRU support worker with previous experience in supporting children affected by trauma.

To apply for this role you must have

  • Extensive experience supporting young people with complex SEN and SEMH needs, particularly those who have experienced trauma.
  • Ability to follow and implement detailed educational psychology plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Warm, approachable, and empathetic with excellent listening skills.

This role is offered on a full-time contract basis from November 2025 to July 2026. The hours are 8.30pm – 4.00pm. The school will offer an initial trial of 2 – 3 days to assess suitability and connection.
