Backend Software Engineer / Developer (Python API) London to £130k

One of the world's oldest Hedge Funds with over $10 billion under management is seeking a technologist Backend Software Engineer to join their Quant Analytics team to build a quant library, working closely with Quants as the go to person for software engineering within the team.

This is a senior, hands-on role where you can make a real impact; you'll take ownership working across the full software development lifecycle from requirements through to deployment with a focus on complex backend systems.

Location / WFH:

You'll join colleagues in the London office with flexible hours you'll be based in amazing offices with free onsite gym as well as other perks such as catered lunches and the flexibility to work from home once a week.

About you:

  • You have expertise with modern Python backend software engineering and can provide subject matter expertise
  • You are collaborative and pragmatic, able to push back and represent technology to the business
  • You have strong Git experience
  • You have a thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals including OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, Algorithms
  • You have a good knowledge of APIs
  • You are degree educated in a relevant discipline from a top tier university, Computer Science preferred
  • Experience within a finance / trading environment is beneficial but not necessary, technical skills of greater importance
