- Building scalable software that connects users with thoughtfully designed financial solutions (think insurance, underwriting, loan servicing, payments).
- Taking technical ownership of projects from ideation through delivery.
- Making product and engineering trade-offs that balance business goals, user experience, and maintainability.
- Collaborating closely with product, design, operations, and data teams to ship impactful solutions.
- Contributing to infrastructure, developer tools, testing pipelines, and observability — raising the bar for engineering quality across the board.
Who We're Looking ForYou’ll thrive here if you:
- Have 3+ years experience working as a full-stack engineer, ideally with a focus on backend systems in a startup or fast-moving environment.
- Are confident in JavaScript (and ideally TypeScript — that’s their primary language.)
- Ideally know your way around PostgreSQL.
- Work well in ambiguity and enjoy solving both technical and user-facing problems.
- Like working in small, cross-functional teams where everyone contributes beyond their job title.
- Take ownership of challenges — our client’s product spans healthcare, finance, and insurance, so creative, cross-domain thinking is essential.
Bonus points if you’ve worked with tools like NestJS, Next.js, React, AWS, SQS, or automated infra tools like Pulumi.How They Build
- Fast, iterative cycles with a bias for action — MVPs, feedback, and quick learning.
- Deep collaboration across product, engineering, and operations.
- A strong preference for simplicity, using proven open-source tools wherever possible.
- Tech stack includes TypeScript, React, Next.js, Nest.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, Vercel, and more.
- Observability and stability are a priority, with tools like Cloudwatch, Sentry, and Grafana in place.
