About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Patching and Vulnerability Engineer to join our dynamic Technology team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a critical role focused on identifying and remediating vulnerabilities to protect the integrity and security of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, strong technical skills, and previous experience in the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vulnerability Assessment: Perform regular vulnerability scans and assessments across systems, applications, and networks.

  • Patch Management: Follow global patching and vulnerability management standards to ensure timely application of patches and updates.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Infrastructure, Desktop, and Security teams to coordinate implementation and testing.

  • Reporting: Deliver clear, detailed reports on vulnerabilities and patch status to key stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor security trends and emerging threats to enhance our security practices.

  • Incident Response: Support incident response activities and escalate unresolved issues appropriately.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patching activities and vulnerability mitigation efforts.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in patch and vulnerability management within complex IT environments.

  • Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), network infrastructure, and security tools.

  • Proficiency in vulnerability and patching tools (e.g., Tenable, Nessus, Qualys, ManageEngine, Intune).

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards.

  • Insurance sector experience is essential.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, ITIL) are desirable.
