A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a technically strong Platform Engineer to join a global professional services firm. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team responsible for the delivery and support of core IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on infrastructure automation and cloud technologies.

About the Role:The Platform Engineer will contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of both public and private cloud platforms, support infrastructure as code practices, and provide technical guidance across the wider IT function. This is a critical role in driving forward modern IT service delivery through automation and scalable platform solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.

  • Build and maintain platform services supporting internal development and infrastructure teams.

  • Provide 3rd-line support and participate in platform and architectural design discussions.

  • Enhance automation, CI/CD capabilities, and system integration with tools like ServiceNow.

  • Ensure platforms are secure, scalable, and fit for purpose.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Significant experience in platform/infrastructure engineering within complex environments.

  • Expertise in Terraform, PowerShell or Python scripting, and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

  • Strong background in Azure cloud technologies.

  • Familiarity with ITIL-based service management and enterprise-level operational support.

  • A collaborative approach with excellent communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Azure networking, and VPNs.

  • Exposure to tools such as SQL, Elastic/Kibana, Application Gateways, and Azure Bicep.

  • Experience with Agile or Kanban methodologies and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
