Inside IR35 - Hybrid

We’re partnering with a leading global financial institution to find a highly capable Python Developer to join their Finance Technology team. This opportunity is ideal for a software developer who thrives in a regulatory-driven environment and is excited to work on impactful systems supporting financial reporting obligations.

The Role:

You’ll play a key role in enhancing and maintaining a critical vendor platform—Axiom ControllerView—alongside several in-house developed components. Your work will directly support the Finance Controllers organisation in meeting their evolving regulatory reporting obligations.

This role offers hands-on involvement across the software development lifecycle—from design and coding to deployment and documentation. You’ll be part of a collaborative team focused on improving service quality and system availability within a fast-paced and compliance-sensitive technology domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support development and maintenance of Axiom ControllerView and related internal tools.

  • Participate in complex initiatives including installations, upgrades, and system deployments.

  • Write clean, efficient, and tested code for moderately complex projects.

  • Analyze technical challenges and propose solutions within the finance tech domain.

  • Assist with troubleshooting, system enhancements, and performance optimizations.

  • Collaborate with technology colleagues, internal partners, and business stakeholders.

  • Ensure solutions align with security and compliance standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong programming skills in Python, with solid grounding in OOP, data structures, and algorithms.

  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Comfortable with Agile methodologies and collaborative team-based development.

  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries and working with relational databases.

  • Familiar with Linux/Unix systems, shell scripting, and command-line utilities.

  • A careful, methodical coder with good documentation habits and testing discipline.

  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.

Bonus Points For:

  • Prior experience with Axiom ControllerView or similar regulatory reporting platforms.

  • Exposure to financial systems or regulatory compliance environments.
