Role: DevOps EngineerLocation: London - hybrid Duration: 6 months Rate: £500 outside IR35 Clearance: Candidates must hold active SC and have used it within the last 12 months in another UK government department.
Overview:We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a well-established team working on Public Sector project. This position is suited to someone who is not only technically proficient but also a strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. You will be comfortable working with both central and dispersed stakeholders, showing persistence and influence to drive better ways of working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Support the migration from Kubernetes to a serverless architecture
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to both technical delivery and stakeholder engagement
- Automate processes to improve operational efficiency and service delivery
- Act as the sole DevOps Engineer within the squad, providing end-to-end engineering support
Essential Skills & Experience:
- CI/CD
- Terraform
- Kafka
- Kubernetes (plus experience migrating away from Kubernetes to serverless)
- GitLab
- GitHub Actions (and ideally GitHub Enterprise)
- AWS services: Lambda, CloudWatch, S3, IAM, Athena, RDS
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable Skills:
- FinOps
- Testing
- Cybersecurity
- Experience working as the sole DevOps Engineer on a project
