Job Description:

A well-regarded secondary SEN school in Greenwich is looking for a dedicated and experienced Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time role involves supporting students aged 11-16 with a range of complex special educational needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties.

You will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with complex needs

  • Support with learning, sensory activities, and emotional regulation

  • Use communication aids such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices

  • Assist with personal care and mobility where necessary

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to follow individual plans

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting young people with complex SEN

  • Understanding of autism, PMLD, or SLD

  • Patient, resilient, and proactive approach

  • Comfortable with personal care (training provided if needed)

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
