A friendly and inclusive secondary school in Hackney is on the lookout for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a student with special educational needs. This is an ideal role for someone interested in pursuing a career in SEN, educational psychology, or therapy.
You'll play a key part in helping a young person access learning, regulate emotions and build essential life skills.
Your Role:
- Work closely with a student who has an EHCP
- Implement SEN strategies and support learning
- Provide help with social, emotional and communication needs
- Track progress and adapt approaches with guidance from the SENCO
You'll Need:
- A degree and an interest in SEN or youth support
- Patience, empathy and resilience
- Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn
- Some experience with young people is an advantage
