We are seeking a full-time 1:1 mentor to support a bright, sensitive female student with multiple learning and developmental needs at a welcoming school in Fairlop (London Borough of Redbridge).

This is a term-time only position beginning in September 2025, ideal for someone who is patient, organised, and confident communicating with families and professionals alike.

About the Student

The student requires structured, thoughtful support throughout the school day. She works with an external tutor for up to three hours daily and benefits from a consistent 1:1 adult who can guide her through routines, transitions, and learning in and out of class.

Her diagnoses include:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition

  • ADHD

  • Language delays (both understanding and expressing)

  • Developmental delay

  • Sensory processing challenges

  • Anxiety

  • Developmental Coordination Disorder

She can sometimes misinterpret social cues or express things in a way that doesn't reflect her intent - so it's essential that the person in this role is empathetic, reflective, and not easily thrown off by misunderstandings.

What You'll Do
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the day

  • Help the student navigate emotional, sensory, and social challenges

  • Collaborate with an in-school tutor and help bridge her learning between sessions

  • Be the key contact for day-to-day communication with her family

  • Write professional, well-structured emails and updates for staff and external professionals

  • Liaise with a wider support network including therapists, specialists, and SEN services

  • Foster independence while maintaining clear boundaries and consistency

Who We're Looking For
  • Someone with a degree (essential)

  • Fully available Monday to Friday from September 2025 during school hours

  • Ideally, has prior experience working with neurodivergent or developmentally delayed students

  • Excellent at communicating both in writing and in person

  • Emotionally grounded, reliable, and flexible in your approach

  • Comfortable being proactive and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

This is not a role for someone looking to follow a script - it's for someone who can stay grounded, think on their feet, and build trust with a unique and wonderful student who learns best through patient, individualised support.
