Learning Support Assistant - Immediate Start

A well-regarded secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team immediately. This full-time, long-term role will run until the end of the academic year, offering a rewarding opportunity to support students in a dynamic learning environment.

About the Role:The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role involves providing in-class support, assisting with differentiated learning activities, and promoting student progress and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of learning needs

  • Support the delivery of tailored learning interventions and individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment

  • Help manage student behaviour and encourage positive learning habits

  • Monitor student progress and contribute to assessment and planning discussions

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or care setting

  • A valid DBS registered on the update service

  • Experience supporting students with SEND is required or highly desirable

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting learning
