Are you passionate about supporting young people with complex special educational needs? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a warm and supportive SEN school in Lewisham, working within a specialised unit for students with severe and multiple learning needs.

About the Role:

You will be working closely with students in Key Stage 3, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • ADHD

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Physical disabilities

This is a rewarding and hands-on role that involves supporting students with both their learning and personal development. Some elements of personal care will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students within the specialist provision

  • Assist the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour and promoting engagement

  • Help with personal care routines where needed

  • Contribute to creating a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support behaviour strategies

About You:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable

  • Calm, patient, and adaptable with a positive attitude

  • Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needs

  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
