Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Newham this September.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping all learners succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs (including autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and other learning needs).

  • Supporting students in lessons and helping them to engage in learning activities.

  • Assisting teachers in adapting materials and strategies to meet individual needs.

  • Monitoring and recording student progress and working closely with the SENCO and wider support team.

  • Promoting inclusion and independence across the school day.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous experience working with young people with SEN (in a school or similar setting).

  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.

  • Knowledge of EHCPs, differentiation, or behaviour support is desirable but not essential.
