Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Newham this September.
About the Role:As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping all learners succeed.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs (including autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and other learning needs).

Supporting students in lessons and helping them to engage in learning activities.

Assisting teachers in adapting materials and strategies to meet individual needs.

Monitoring and recording student progress and working closely with the SENCO and wider support team.

Promoting inclusion and independence across the school day.

Previous experience working with young people with SEN (in a school or similar setting).

A calm, patient and nurturing approach.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Knowledge of EHCPs, differentiation, or behaviour support is desirable but not essential.
