We are seeking a caring, committed, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a thriving secondary school in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with students who need additional support to access learning and succeed in school.

About the Role:

As an SEN TA, you will work closely with students who have a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. You'll play a key role in helping them engage in lessons, develop confidence, and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN

  • Help implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Support students both in and out of the classroom

  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to adapt lesson materials

  • Promote inclusion and encourage independence in learning

  • Help manage behaviour positively and consistently

What We're Looking For:
  • A genuine interest in SEN and supporting young people

  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

  • A relevant qualification or willingness to undertake training is a plus
