SEN Teacher Assistant - Full Time - Temp to Perm - September Start - Chiswick

Are you a caring and compassionate individual with a passion for working alongside children?

We are currently recruiting for a SEN Teacher Assistant to work full time at a special needs school based in Chiswick. This special needs school offers a calm, nurturing and safe environment with a holistic curriculum that is guided by Speech and Language therapists and Occupational Therapists. This school has a focus on developing their pupils essential life skills with a goal to lead them into successful lives outside of school.

You will be supporting students with moderate learning difficulties, working on a 1:1 basis and providing personalised support to help each learner unlock their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safeguarding/health and safety policies of the school
  • Ensure a personalised approach to encourage learner engagement
  • Work on a 1:1 basis
  • Understand how ASD can create barriers to learning and how to overcome them
  • Use positive behaviour techniques to help each learner unlock their full potential with confidence
  • Encourage self regulation where necessary
