We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with a range of additional needs in welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary schools across Islington.

About the Role:You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis with special educational needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. This is a highly rewarding role for someone with a calm, patient and adaptable approach who is passionate about inclusion and pupil progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated SEN support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO

  • Support learning through targeted interventions and differentiated resources

  • Help pupils engage with classroom activities and develop their confidence

  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

  • Maintain clear records of progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or childcare setting

  • A caring, empathetic, and proactive attitude

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • A commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing

  • Understanding of EHCPs, behaviour strategies, or specialist approaches (e.g., PECS, Makaton, Zones of Regulation) is a bonus
