The Role

Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming one-form entry Church of England primary school in Westminster to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time role offers an immediate start and long-term potential for the right candidate.

You will support a Year 4 pupil who is currently working at a Year 1 level, providing tailored assistance to help them access the curriculum and develop socially and emotionally. You will also be required to work with groups of children within the year 4 class or other classes as needed. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a nurturing approach and a strong understanding of differentiated learning.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs

  • Adapt learning materials to suit pupils’ developmental levels

  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCPs and personalised learning plans

  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting
