Veritas Education are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Lewisham, who are seeking a dedicated HLTA or experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.

This rewarding role will involve working one-to-one with a small group of children who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing tailored support to help them access learning and thrive in the classroom.

The Role:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit individual needs
  • Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to deliver effective interventions
  • Foster a positive, nurturing environment for pupils to develop confidence and independence
  • Monitor and report on progress, liaising with parents and outside professionals as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • HLTA qualification or proven experience as an SEN TA working with children with EHCPs
  • Strong understanding of a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs
  • Calm, patient and adaptable, with excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff
  • Available to start immediately and committed to a long-term role
