The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant Will Have:

?? Previous experience working with Autism (ASD) or Special Educational Needs in a school setting?? Confidence supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups (phonics experience desirable)?? Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff?? Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach?? Strong behaviour management and communication skills?? A good understanding of child development and IEP and EHCP targets

Essential Compliance for Teaching Assistants:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Your CV must contain all work since leaving formal education
  • 2 professional references (within the last 2 years)
  • Overseas police check (if applicable)
