SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support (ASD & Behaviour Needs) - Islington Primary School - September Start

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about making a difference in the life of a child with additional needs?

Tradewind is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming mainstream primary school in Islington for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This is a long-term role, supporting a Year 3 pupil with Autism (ASD) and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis.

The Role:
  • Supporting a child in Year 3 with ASD and social-emotional needs

  • Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external specialists

  • Helping the child access learning, regulate emotions, and succeed in the classroom

Requirements:
  • Previous 1:1 SEN support experience in a UK primary school (essential)

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient manner

  • A solid understanding of Autism and how it affects learning

  • Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
