Based in Mitcham | KS1 Role | Through Agency

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mitcham, supporting a KS1 pupil on a 1:1 basis. This full-time role is offered via agency, with a September start date!

The Role:As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted 1:1 support for a child in KS1 with an EHCP. You will be responsible for assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the support in place is tailored and effective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 support in line with EHCP targets

  • Implement strategies to aid learning, engagement, and well-being

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents/carers, and external professionals

  • Maintain records and contribute to progress reviews and reports

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a SEN TA, particularly in a 1:1 capacity

  • Familiarity with EHCPs and how to support children with additional needs

  • Experience in a primary (preferably KS1) setting

  • Experience with attention autism program in particular, attention bucket

  • Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Availability to trial prior to September
