SEN Teaching Assistant

Age Range - KS2

Location: East Dulwich, Southwark
Start Date: ASAP - July 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: 95-112.90 per day, increasing after 12 weeks

SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 5 who requires support when becoming dysregulated.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the child's emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate with staff and parents regarding their development.

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs
  • Strong understanding of SEN, particularly in relation to de-escalation techniques
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting individual student needs.
