Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lewisham to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.

The Role:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs (including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties).
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupils' academic and social development.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment tailored to each child's needs.
  • Support pupils with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of children.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant certificate) is desirable but not essential.
