We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive secondary school in Havering. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of students who need additional help to access learning.

The Role:

As an SEN TA, you will work closely with students who have a range of additional needs-including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. You will support them in the classroom, help implement individual education plans, and contribute to creating a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN

  • Assist with adapting classroom materials and delivering tailored interventions

  • Help students develop their confidence, independence, and learning skills

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCo to monitor progress

  • Contribute to creating a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere

What We're Looking For:
  • A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A calm, resilient and patient approach

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable

  • A background in education, psychology, youth work, or SEN support is a plus
