SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School in Southwark

Location: Southwark, South East LondonStart Date: September 2025Contract Type: Full-Time, Monday to FridaySalary: £95-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Southwark from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning and emotional development of pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or group basis

  • Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

  • Implement personalised learning strategies and behaviour support plans

  • Monitor and record student progress and communicate effectively with teachers and parents

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or care setting)

  • Strong understanding of the needs of children with autism and other learning difficulties

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
