Intervention Teacher - Immediate Start

Contract: Full-time, ongoing for the remainder of the academic year

Tempest are working with a 3-form entry primary school who are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Intervention Teacher to join the school experienced and supportive upper KS2 team.

Although the school are a three-form entry school, the high level of need and the number of EAL learners in Year 6 has led to a split the cohort into five smaller groups to better support all pupils. The school are now looking for a fourth teacher to lead one of these additional groups.



The Role:

  • Morning sessions: Teach a small group of around 12 pupils with a range of SEND needs. These pupils are working at levels between Year 2 and Year 4, and they are enthusiastic, capable, and eager to learn. You will be supported by a dedicated Teaching Assistant.

  • Afternoon sessions: Provide whole-class cover across the three main Year 6 classes (each with 30 pupils), ensuring continuity and high standards in teaching and learning.



Ideal candidate:

  • Become an integral member of our strong and collaborative Year 6 team.

  • Commit to school hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

  • Run one lunchtime club and two after-school booster sessions per week (until 4:15 pm).

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in line with school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and digital technology.

  • Work flexibly and positively with colleagues - most planning is already in place, and team collaboration is a key strength of our school.
