Inspire, support, and empower young learners with SEN in Key Stage 2.Hays Education is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington to recruit a committed and experienced SEN Primary Class Teacher for a Key Stage 2 class starting in September 2025.

About the Role:

You will lead a small, well-supported class of Key Stage 2 pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment, with a strong emphasis on personalised learning and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCPs
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, therapists, and support staff
  • Track and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed
  • Promote independence, resilience, and confidence in all learners

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally in Key Stage 2
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and adaptive teaching methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to teaching
