About the Role:
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with a range of special educational needs. Your role will involve supporting students to access the curriculum, promoting independence, and fostering a safe and welcoming learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is empathetic, proactive, and committed to supporting children's development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with SEN in both classroom and small group settings
- Assisting with personal care and behaviour management as required
- Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and learning programmes
- Promoting positive behaviour and social interaction
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to support student progress
- Encouraging independence and confidence among students
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is preferred but not essential
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
- Enthusiastic and committed to inclusive education
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) are desirable
