A welcoming and inclusive school in South East London is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join their team and provide high-quality classroom support to students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with PMLD within a classroom setting

  • Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored educational and care plans

  • Use a range of communication strategies including Makaton, PECs, or sensory-based approaches (training can be provided)

  • Foster a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Has experience supporting students with PMLD or other complex SEN needs (preferred but not essential)

  • Is compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about inclusive education

  • Is reliable, adaptable, and able to work effectively within a team

  • Has a DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one
