SEN Teacher Role

MPS1 - UPS3 Inner London Pay Scale

Academics are currently working with this large successful Primary school in Hackney who have now received extra funding to support their SEN students with a full-time SEN Teacher. This new post at the school will see the successful SEN Teacher leading on intervention for groups of children across the school with ASD. The school has a high percentage of children with additional needs, and this new role will support children, teachers, and the children's parents and carers to ensure children with additional needs get a more tailored and enriched curriculum that meets their needs.

The successful person will have an excellent working knowledge of the Primary curriculum and hands-on experience working with children with ASD. A SEN specialism or additional training in this area would be advantageous but not essential. You will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to be able to work effectively with teachers across the school, based in Hackney, and the children's parents and carers.

Inside the school you will find a well-resourced classroom and a friendly, hardworking team that pull together to make sure their children get the best Primary school experience. You will be mentored by a very experienced SENCO and supported by visiting therapists. Must be able to commute to Hackney.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a diligent and hardworking Special Educational Needs teacher to make a real impact for local children in a very supportive and friendly school environment. There is room for this role to grow for an ambitious teacher who would like to take on more responsibility.

If this sounds like the role for you, please get in touch today with a copy of your CV. Interviews will be arranged for October, with the successful SEN teacher in Hackney joining the team after October half term or sooner if you are available. It is essential you have QTS to be considered for this role.
