An inclusive and forward-thinking mainstream primary school in the Wandsworth Borough is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and skilled SEN Teacher to join their team from September. This exciting opportunity is to lead a Key Stage 2 class within the school's specialist Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Resource Base, which supports a small group of pupils with diagnosed ASC who benefit from a quieter, more structured learning environment.

This is a full-time, long-term role, with the strong potential to become permanent for the right individual. The base operates as an integral part of the wider school, with strong inclusion practices and opportunities for pupils to access mainstream learning as appropriate.

About the Role:
  • Teaching a small class of KS2 pupils with a range of autism-related needs, including communication difficulties, sensory processing differences, and social-emotional regulation challenges

  • Leading a team of experienced and skilled support staff, including TAs and 1:1s

  • Developing and delivering highly differentiated, engaging, and meaningful lessons

  • Collaborating with the SENCO, therapists, external professionals, and families to create personalised learning plans (EHCPs)

  • Ensuring a nurturing and structured learning environment that promotes independence, confidence, and emotional well-being

  • Contributing to whole-school inclusion and sharing expertise with the wider staff team

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - ECTs with relevant SEN experience welcome to apply

  • Proven experience of teaching children with autism and/or complex SEN, ideally in a primary or specialist setting

  • A solid understanding of the KS2 curriculum and how to adapt it for children with additional needs

  • Excellent behaviour management strategies and a calm, empathetic approach

  • A passion for inclusive education and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children and families

  • Knowledge of relevant SEN strategies and a commitment to professional development
