Daytime Healthcare are assisting a high-end Ophthalmology Clinic in Marylebone who are seeking A Nurse Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician to join their team. This will initially be likely for 12 months fixed term, with a view to becoming a permanent position.

Ophthalmic experience is preferred, however full training is available. This position is mainly Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support (Nursing Assistant Duties)

  • Act as a runner in the Operating Room, assisting with stock preparation, patient transfers, and theatre logistics (non-scrub role)
  • Support nurses with administrative duties including patient notes, ordering, and maintaining clinical supplies
  • Prepare and chaperone patients for laser refractive and intraocular surgeries
  • Assist with post-operative checks and follow-up care appointments
  • Administer pre-approved eye drops and medication under supervision and in line with local protocols
  • Provide information to patients regarding post-op instructions (following approved scripts/checklists)
  • Escalate any clinical queries or concerns appropriately to registered staff

Diagnostic Support (Ophthalmic Technician Duties)

  • Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT, visual fields, topography, tonometry, and fundus photography (full training provided)
  • Ensure accurate data entry and imaging capture for clinician review
  • Prepare equipment and testing rooms before and after patient use
  • Support the flow of patients through the diagnostic process

You must have experience working within either a hospital or clinic setting to be considered and also have a NVQ level 2 or 3 (Candidate with UK right to work only).
