Long Term Futures is seeking a qualified and registered Speech and Language Therapist (SPLT) to support a child with ASD, PDA, and communication needs at a primary school in Haringey. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in educational or paediatric settings, who can implement targeted speech and language strategies to help develop the child's communication and social skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and small-group therapy tailored to the child's EHCP.
  • Develop verbal reasoning skills using Blank Level questioning.
  • Implement social stories and structured interventions to support social communication.
  • Provide training and guidance to school staff on effective communication strategies.
  • Use alternative communication methods such as PECS, visual aids, and speech-to-text technology.
  • Support structured peer interactions to develop social confidence.
  • Contribute to progress tracking, EHCP reviews, and multi-disciplinary meetings.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with a national professional body.
  • Experience working with children with ASD, PDA, and speech & language difficulties.
  • Knowledge of social communication interventions and alternative communication methods.
  • Strong teamwork skills to work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and best practices in child protection.
