Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a vibrant primary school in Lewisham (SE13), seeking a confident and enthusiastic Sports Coach who can also support across the classroom as a Teaching Assistant. This is a long-term, full-time role with consistency and responsibility - perfect for someone eager to step into a well-rounded school support role.

Duties Include:

  • Leading structured physical education lessons and break-time activities across KS1 and KS2
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with children who need additional help engaging in lessons
  • Using sport as a tool to build self-esteem, improve behaviour and promote teamwork
  • Assisting in developing individual support plans in collaboration with teaching staff and SENCo
  • Helping to run lunchtime clubs, after-school sports sessions and enrichment activities
  • Acting as a role model for resilience, fair play and perseverance

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience coaching children in schools or youth sport environments
  • Strong understanding of the link between physical activity and pupil wellbeing
  • Willingness to assist with academic support and interventions across subjects
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a calm and approachable manner
  • Able to build strong relationships with pupils from diverse backgrounds
