Procurement Specialist (Contract)
Location: London (2-3 days per week in Embankment)
Day Rate: 550-600 (all in)
Contract: 3 months initially, with potential extension to 6 months
Start: Immediate
I'm supporting a leading consultancy partner who requires Procurement Specialists to join their team on a major programme of work. This is an immediate-start contract role focused on managing complex procurement processes within regulated and high-value environments. The successful candidates will help keep procurement activities on track, ensure programme milestones are met, and provide commercial support throughout the tendering and evaluation process.
You'll work client-side within a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, supporting the procurement of packages across electrical transmission, data centres, LDES/BESS, and similar large-scale infrastructure. The role requires strong commercial judgement, excellent organisation, and the ability to coordinate suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders to drive progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities and keep the programme aligned with deadlines and milestones.
- Ensure appropriate resources are in place to support each stage of the procurement lifecycle.
- Coordinate supplier queries and collate client team responses, ensuring swift turnaround and issue resolution.
- Support evaluation of supplier proposals, commercial assessments, and technical clarifications.
- Prepare reports and presentation materials for senior leadership and Steering Committee meetings.
- Identify, develop, and recommend negotiation strategies with suppliers.
- Lead or support supplier negotiations as required.
- Prepare structured feedback materials to suppliers post-evaluation.
Skills & Experience Required
- 5-8 years' experience in procurement or commercial roles within construction, infrastructure, energy, electrical transmission, data centres, or BESS/LDES programmes.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance and end-to-end tendering processes.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage high volumes of supplier interactions.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Confident preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability, and supplier management experience.
- Ability to start immediately and commit to 2-3 days per week onsite in Embankment.
